Taking a high school guitar course to get enough credits to pass to the next year. Falling in love with the instrument and going on to study classical and jazz guitar, and composition in college. Abandoning the stagnant university system. A plane ticket to Spain, to find flamenco at its source. Away from the internet and DVDs. Side by side with the sons and cousins of Aquilino “El Entri” Jimenez, perhaps the most prominent flamenco guitar teacher in the world (www.academiaelentri.es). Evan Cary became a student. An artist.
